Fish Masala - Ayesha's Kitchen

Fish masala is one of the tasty dishes of Pakistan… Do try this and enjoy Fish in Desi style ….

Ingredients:

  • 2 onion chopped
  • 4 medium sized salmon fillets
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes
  • A pinch of carom seeds
  • 3 green chillies slitted
  • ¼ cup coriander chopped
  • 2 curry leaves
  • ½ tspn cumin seeds
  • 1 dried red chilli
  • 6 tbspns olive oil
  • A pinch of fenugreek leaves
  • 1 tbspn red chilli powder
  • ½ tspn turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 tspn coriander powder
  • 1 tspn garam masala powder
  • 2 tbspn lemon juice
  • A pinch of black pepper

Procedure:

-30 minutes before cooking, marinade salmon fillets in yogurt, carom seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, coriander powder, lemon juice, black pepper and garam masala.

-Heat oil and curry leaves, fenugreek leaves, cumin seeds and red chilli. When they begin to splatter, add onion and fry until they are golden brown. Now add tomatoes and cook the mixture on low heat.

-Add marinated salmon fillets along with the yogurt mixture and on very low heat cook them, covered.

-Stir occasionally and handle the fillets with great care. Don’t let them break.

-After 15 minutes of cooking add green chillies and coriander leaves and serve it hot with chapattis and kachumar salad.

Outcome:

Tasty fish masala is ready to consume.

-Handle fillets with great care. Don’t let them break.

-Do not add water to this dish.

-Cook the dish on medium low heat.

This will serve 2 – 4 persons easily.
