The holy city...
Maybe there is no holier place than Jerusalem...
Jews, Muslims, Christians: all three hold Jerusalem sacred, and it seems all three would rather see it destroyed than have the others touch it... like 3 men fighting about a beautiful woman!
To the Jewish people it is Ir Ha-Kodesh (the Holy City), the Biblical Zion, the City of David, the site of Solomon's Temple, and the eternal capital of the Israelite nation. To Christians it is where the young Jesus impressed the sages at the Jewish Temple, where he spent the last days of his ministry, and where the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection took place. Also greatly venerated by the Muslims, it is where the prophet Mohammad rose to heaven and where God instructed Abraham to sacrifice his son...
Jerusalem is certainly one of the most interesting places, a place full of history... and a place that shows all the good and bad that religion can make people do... but that's another story and not supposed to be told by me... ;-)
